Winter Season - Bar Supervisor

The Bar Supervisor provides a great experience to restaurant Guests by overseeing the bar operations with efficiency and professionalism.


Start Date: 13 November 2024

Job Description

  • Anticipation of Guest Needs: Proactively understand and cater to guest preferences, providing tailored recommendations.
  • Beverage Preparation: Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including barista coffees and various cocktails, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Daily Ordering to Suppliers: Manage the daily ordering of supplies from various suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate procurement of necessary items.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain an extensive knowledge base of all products offered, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation. Train and educate the bar team to ensure consistent product knowledge and service.
  • Guest Interaction: Enhance guest experiences through engaging conversations and personalised service.
  • Stock Management: Oversee the restocking and replenishing of bar supplies, conducting regular stock takes to maintain inventory levels.
  • Cleanliness and Compliance: Ensure the bar area remains clean and complies with local health and safety standards.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Maintain high levels of customer service, leading by example and setting the standard for the bar team.
  • POS & Register Management: Handle POS systems and cash registers, ensuring accurate transactions and efficient cashing up at the end of shifts.
  • Special Orders and Requests: Assist with and manage special orders and guest requests, ensuring satisfaction.
  • Allergy Procedures: Implement and enforce allergy protocols to ensure guest safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Complaint Resolution: Address and resolve guest complaints, collaborating with supervisors as needed.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the bar team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • General Tasks: Occasionally assist with washing up and other general kitchen and restaurant FOH tasks as needed.
  • Personal Hygiene: Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about hospitality service.
  • Previous bar/restaurant and barista experience.
  • Professional attitude with a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Punctual individual.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Intermediate level English or Japanese.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Experience in stock management and ordering supplies.
  • Knowledge of allergy procedures and health safety standards.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of the bar's products and offerings.

Employment Period

  • 13 Nov 2024 - 31 Mar 2025.
  • Fully paid training at the start of the season.

Working Hours

  • Generally 5 days per week, around 40 hours per week.
  • Hours will vary through the season depending on business levels with less hours at the start and end of the season (more riding time!) and occasional overtime work during peak period.

Pay Rate

  • ¥1,850 - ¥2,150 per hour.
  • 25% overtime allowance worked above prescribed working hours for the month.
  • 25% late night allowance for work between 10pm and 5am.
