Winter Season - Baker

Start Date: 9 November 2026

• Hands on food preparation and cooking at a workstation.
• Preparing meals and prep supplies for Kumo Restaurant, An Dining Restaurant and Skye Cafe Deli
• Preparing baked goods and pastries for the FoodWork Bakery
• Maintaining communication with Chef
• Prepare dishes according to our concept
• Creating ‘specials’ with Chef
• Maintaining a sanitary and neatly arranged workstation
• Maintaining a high standard of personal hygiene and cleanliness

• Passionate about hospitality service.
• Experience working as a cook or baker.
• Understands how a successfully kitchen operates.
• Professional attitude with courteous and friendly manner.
• Punctual individual.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Team player.
• Fluent English or Japanese
• Shows high levels of attention to detail.
• Available to work late nights and early mornings.

Pay Rate

• ¥1,900 per hour.
• 25% overtime allowance for hours worked above prescribed working hours for the month.
• 25% late night allowance for work between 10pm and 5am.

Employment Period

• November 2026 - March 2027
• Fully paid training at the start of the season.
• Opportunity for contract extension.

Hours

• Generally 5 days per week, around 40 hours per week.
• Hours will vary through the season depending on business levels with less hours at the start and end of the season (more riding time!) and occasional overtime work during peak periods

Lift Passes
 

• A Free Grand Hirafu season pass with an option of upgrading to All Mountain at an additional cost.
• If you do not need a pass, you will be offered a bonus payment.

Travel Support Bonus
 

• ¥50,000 travel cost support bonus upon contract completion for new staff or ¥80,000 for returning staff.

Subsidised Accommodation and Staff Shuttle

• Subsidised staff accommodation available in Hirafu or Kutchan with all utilities, basic supplies and WiFi included.
• For staff based in Kutchan, there is a free staff shuttle to transport to and from work in Hirafu.
• Staff accommodation is available until the end of the resort season. Plus, enjoy a rent-free week after your contract ends to relax and pack up at your own pace.

Free Ski & Snowboard Lessons
 

• Great for first-timers and beginners - free ski/snowboard group lessons with GoSnow (dependent on availability.)

Discounts on HTM's services
 

• Discounts on stays, restaurants, rentals, massages and more with HTM operated businesses.

Future opportunities in Niseko with the company

• For the best performing seasonal staff, we will want you back and can potentially sponsor a working visa for future seasons (provided you meet the sponsorship criteria). Full-time career options are also available.

Living in Japan Support

• We’ll guide you through the essentials, including setting up your local bank account and completing your Residence Card registration.
• Full enrollment in social insurance programs for all eligible team members
